In fact, I was a newspaper reporter before I got into teaching. I covered county government, and I hated it.
After spending some time in my wife’s classroom (a high school social studies teacher), I found my calling — education — and went back to school.
After teaching Spanish in a small high school for several years, I had the itch to write again. I started my blog, “Ditch That Textbook,” to provide the kind of help I'd received so generously from other writers.
Since then, the blog has been viewed millions of times with tens of thousands of subscribers around the world.
I’m happily married to my college sweetheart and live in the wooded, quiet countryside of West Central Indiana. We have three fun-loving children, two dogs and a mortgage. I’m blessed beyond measure and living the dream.
