  • Once on Johnson St., look for the ONE WAY entrance, then veer left past the gates into the parking lot/ playground (after 5:30). Entrance is under the maroon canopy.

Cost: $25 (includes workshop AND a copy of Matt’s book, Ditch That Textbook)

6:00-6:50 p.m. — Google Genius: Practical Google Activities for Class Tomorrow — Googlize your classroom immediately! Learn about lots of Google-based activities that can be applied to almost any grade level, content area or specialization right away. Google tools will include the likes of Docs, Slides, Drawings, Maps. Thorough digital handouts give you everything you need to incorporate these activities in class tomorrow! (Activities will be optimized for use on a laptop or Chromebook, but many can be adapted for iPad.)

6:50-7:00 p.m. — Break, book signing and questions

7:00-8:00 p.m. — The Lightning Round: 60 Powerful Tools in 60 Minutes — Hang on, because they’re going to come fast and furious! 60 useful digital tools are presented in 60 minutes. Get the most power for your hour! Everyone will come away with something they didn’t know about that they can use. Includes GREAT digital handouts to give you access to these tools any time.

How to register:

1. Fill out the registration form by the link below. Please submit one form per person, and please don’t submit duplicates. If you have trouble filling out the form, email Matt at matt@DitchThatTextbook.com.

2. In the form, you’ll choose to pay by cash or check (on site at the time of the workshop) or by credit card or PayPal (before the workshop).

  • If you choose to pay by cash or check, bring your payment with you to the workshop. (Make checks payable to Ditch That Textbook.)
  • If you choose to pay by credit card or PayPal, use the PayPal “Buy Now” button below




  • Bring a device of your choice (laptop, Chromebook, tablet, etc.) to access digital session resources. Note: There will be hands-on activities you can do with your device. They’re designed for a laptop or Chromebook, so if you want to participate, you might want to bring one of those. If you bring an iPad or tablet, you’ll still be able to access the session resources and the web to look up anything you’re curious about.
  • Bring your payment if you’re paying by cash or check. If paying by credit card or PayPal ahead of time, you’ll be on a list of those that pre-paid.
