Finding that special something to capture the attention of your learners can be the difference between a ho-hum, easily forgettable day and an energetic learning experience. (That goes for children, adolescents AND adults!)
I’ve found lots of great educators who are wizards at engaging learners at schools and conferences I’ve visited as well as online through my Twitter PLN. I know those I’ve met are only scratching the surface of all of the wonderfully engaging ones out there.
My friend and fellow educator Jed Dearybury are passionate about making learning fun and engaging. We have teamed up to host a new weekly digital radio show (aka podcast) through the BAM Radio Network called “HookED”. Our goal is to provide practical ideas from effective educators to keep your students hooked in class every day.
We have completed more than a dozen interviews for shows, and as of publication of this post, our first show is live. Jed and I interviewed Dave Burgess, speaker and author of “Teach Like a PIRATE”. He provided great energy and inspiration to keep kids captivated in class and gave some great ideas for doing it.
Other shows will include a wide array of educators, from national teachers of the year to others you’ve never heard of who have effective, innovative ideas.
Interested? Head over to the show’s BAM Radio Network page to play the episode or subscribe on iTunes. You can also find the show on Android devices with any podcast app. Be sure to subscribe so you’ll get every new episode immediately on your device!
