Hey guys! Welcome to FLIPGRID. I am seriously beyond excited to try about this new program. You're able to record videos and respond to topics. Today, I want you to do a video telling me about your FAVORITE BOOK. Can't wait to hear them all!
I created this topic for my students called the "One Minute Book Talk Challenge." The kids LOVED it. The students were engaged because they were discussing their favorite books and characters. Students completed the "Challenge" during class, but many also completed videos at home too!
From the Flipgrid Discovery Library by educator Janice Robertson:
Tell us what you hope your blind date will be like? Is there anything that would make you completely bail on your date after just meeting? Post date: Tell us how it went. Be sure to include the details. Will you be going out again?
On Valentine’s Day I wrap up a bunch of books and invite students to go on a blind book date. However before they can go on a date they have to do a Flipgrid telling the rest of the class how they feel before their date and what they hope their date is going to be like.
Then after they’ve had a couple of days and they’ve spent at least an hour with their date, they do a second Flipgrid where they tell us how the first date went and whether they intend to continue seeing their book or not.
